At the upcoming Lugradio Live, I put myself forward for organising one of the BOF’s. For those that don’t know, I thought it might be a good idea to have a BOF on the subject of how to contribute to an FLOSS project. It’s something that I have been thinking about for a long time, how to contribute, what to contribute, where do I contribute?

Thinking some more about this today, I wonder if there is a need for a website, that is sort of like a anti-sourceforge. Meaning where sourceforge is a website of projects looking for geeks, this will be a website for geeks looking for projects.

My idea is that people can register on the website, with their details, describing what skills they are willing and able to offer, how much time they can contribute, and how they can be contacted etc. This will then be available for people who are looking for help to search and find the help that they need.

I realise that there are various issues, such as privacy things, who can code the website, what shall we call it, etc. Despite all that does anyone think it’s a goer?
